Today Paris Hilton was sent back to jail by Superior Court Judge Michael T. Sauer. Before her re-incarceration she will be evaluated at the downtown Twin Towers jail for a medical and psychiatric examination.
The Paris Hilton debacle started back on Sept 7th, 2007 when Miss Hilton believed her notoriety held her above the law allowing her to drive while intoxicated. The officer that stopped her for reckless driving gave her a sobriety test which she promptly failed. When Miss Hilton appeared for her hearing she pleaded no contest to reckless driving and the old softies of the judicial system never charged her with drunk driving. Her license was suspended and she was put on 36 months probation.
While on probation, Miss Hilton believing in her heart she is above the law and rules are only for bad people, was caught driving while her license was suspended. Nothing was done in that incident aside from letting her go. Miss Hilton was stopped a second time while driving on a suspended license which landed her in court, this time in front of Judge Sauer. She was sentenced to 45 days in jail, and if you ask me, I would have based it on her being a rich, spoiled brat alone.
Miss Hilton spent 3 days incarcerated and during that time developed an “unspecified” ailment. The rumor mill generated a number of speculations such as a tummy ache, a rash, and apparently she had a private psychiatrist visit her and stated she was unfit for incarceration. At this point, Sheriff Lee Baca decided he would rescind Judge Sauer’s order and release Miss Hilton from jail into the house arrest program.
Judge Sauer’s words upon hearing this were “I at no time condoned the actions of the sheriff and at no time told him I approved the actions,” Sauer said. “At no time did I approve the defendant being released from custody to her home.”
Paris Hilton cried the entire time she was in court this time, and put on a great show for her court audience as she turned to her parents behind her and mouthed “I love you” multiple times throughout the hearing. She cried herself into a trembling state that made her look as if she was about to have a Full Monty epileptic seizure.
When the judge ordered her back to jail to finish her 45 day sentence, Miss Hilton immediately screamed “MOM” and struggled against the two officers restraining her by both arms as they escorted her to an awaiting police car.
How do you feel about the way the Paris Hilton debacle has been handled?
